Super-Aged Care: The Catalyst for a Smart Tech Revolution
In 2025, Taiwan officially transitioned into a super-aged society, facing dual challenges of long-term care workforce shortages and uneven care quality. To address this critical societal need, generative AI startup Vyin AI partnered with robotics innovator NUWA Robotics to launch "Gilee," an AI-powered home care robot. This locally developed solution combines Vyin AI's controllable AI brain with NUWA Robotics' humanoid interactive design, transforming home care from simple conversational companionship into comprehensive, proactive support. Gilee helps safeguard seniors' emotional well-being, health, and safety, delivering holistic care in everyday home environments.
Vyin AI, the enterprise AI brand of Gamania Group, specializes in trustworthy generative AI solutions. Powered by its proprietary Vyin Brain core and DistilGraph Retrieval-Augmented Generation (D-RAG) knowledge processing technology, Vyin AI delivers hallucination-free, controllable, and fully traceable AI engines for enterprise applications. Its solutions are already deployed across restaurants, hospitality, retail, and entertainment sectors.
NUWA Robotics, founded in 2016, places emotional communication at the heart of human-machine interaction, integrating sensing, vision, speech, and behavioral technologies to advance a new era of human-robot coexistence. Its products are widely used in education, commercial spaces, and smart care, while the company continues to expand its global B2B ecosystem, establishing NUWA as a leading service robotics innovator in Asia.
A Controllable, Traceable AI Brain Built for Trustworthy Senior Care
"Gilee" combines an intelligent AI brain with empathy-driven interaction, performing tasks while serving as a trusted companion for seniors and a source of reassurance for families. Developed in Taiwan, this innovation marks the start of an evolving partnership between Vyin AI and NUWA Robotics. The two companies will expand controllable AI frameworks and robotic design into healthcare, senior care facilities, and retail, turning human-robot symbiosis from concept into everyday reality.
Generative AI is advancing rapidly, yet safely deploying it in high-stakes long-term care remains a critical challenge. Standard LLMs may converse fluently, but they often lack domain expertise and strict response boundaries, which can result in inaccurate or misleading outputs. Combined with seniors' fragmented speech, subtle health or emotional warning signs can easily be missed.
"Companion robots must inspire trust and comfort for seniors to speak openly," says Daniel Chang, COO of NUWA Robotics. "Addressing loneliness and safeguarding health requires more than a physical presence and interaction; it demands a reliable AI brain."
To meet this challenge, Vyin AI developed its proprietary Vyin Brain, an AI architecture structured around four coordinated hubs: Language, Knowledge, Emotion, and Action. Each hub rigorously governs the AI's reasoning process. The Knowledge Hub consolidates professional medical data into a controllable Knowledge Graph, ensuring that every response is evidence-based, traceable, and verifiable, effectively eliminating the risk of AI hallucinations.
"In long-term care, there is zero room for error. The stakes are too high," emphasizes Benjamin Chen, CSO of Gamania Group and head of Vyin AI. "Vyin Brain enforces strict operational boundaries, ensuring the AI is both intelligent and fully dependable."

Powered by this AI core, Gilee interprets fragmented speech and delivers real-time, context-aware responses. For example, if a senior reports "chest tightness and difficulty breathing," Gilee immediately provides professional health guidance while notifying family members. In suspected scams, the robot issues an immediate warning and advises the user to contact the anti-fraud hotline or their children, providing proactive, two-way protection.
Leveraging years of robotics design expertise, NUWA Robotics has refined Gilee's appearance, eye contact, and natural interaction cues to create a fluid, intuitive communication experience that encourages seniors to express their needs.
"Gilee's friendly design and voice-cloning feature allow seniors to hear their loved ones, fostering genuine emotional connection," notes David Lee, GM of Chunghwa Senior Care Corporation (CSCC). He adds that emotional responsiveness and sustained dialogue are often underestimated. Only when seniors feel comfortable opening up can AI deliver its full value in companionship and timely risk alerts.
